Every query Tim handles for you counts as usage, such as writing an ad, posting to groups, booking a meeting, finding a property, sending a form for signature or replying to a client. The app has a usage meter that shows how much you've used this month.
Tim will let you know when you're getting close to the limit, and offer an extra usage pack for the current month or a switch to Pro. Usage renews at the start of every billing month.

Yes. A move to yearly takes effect right away, and the unused part of your current subscription is credited. A move from Solo to Pro on monthly also takes effect right away. In both cases your monthly usage starts fresh. A move from Pro to Solo on the same billing, or from yearly to monthly, takes effect at the end of the paid period.
